We look forward to seeing you!

THIS EVENING, Thursday, December 4th -
Please join Superintendent, Donna Burge-Tetrick, for an open parent and community meeting at the Burnsville Community Building to discuss BES’s current student enrollment status. Stop by anytime between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM. You do not have to stay the whole time. BES staff will not be attending this meeting. It's for parents and community members to express their thoughts, concerns, suggestions, etc.
Burnsville Elementary has seen a significant drop in enrollment this school year. We began with a PROJECTED (from the WV Dept. of Ed.) enrollment for the school year of 99 students. We ended the 2024/2025 school year with 91 students enrolled. We gained some, and lost some over the summer due to families moving, custody/foster situations, students going to WV Virtual Academy, etc., which is normal for any school every year.
We actually began the 2025/2026 school year with 82 students as of Aug. 12, 2025. (We have gained 17 new students this year, and we have lost 32, so technically, we have lost 15 students this year.) As of October 1, 2025, our enrollment was 87. Today we have just 61 students enrolled.
So, come on out this evening and show our school and our students your support. Everything we do is for our kids, and we love them all!
