Thursday: Send in items for the Braxton County Animal Shelter.
Their biggest need right now is laundry detergent and paper towels.
Send dog food (dry and/or canned), treats, pill pockets, toys, bleach, blankets, towels, dishwashing liquid, trash bags, disposable gloves, etc.

If you already have people that have placed orders with you, you can pick them up any time this week, or you can wait and turn in your completed order forms on Thursday, and you can pick up the entire order on Thursday afternoon or Friday.
IMPORTANT: If you want the meat sticks sent home from school with your student, please write that on your order form with your signature, or write a note, or call or message me and let me know that it's okay. I will put them in a taped bag to be sent home.
I ordered plenty of each flavor to start with, but if you want to guarantee you get the number and flavors your customers ordered, I would suggest picking them up early. You also have the option of telling your customers that they can pick them up themselves at the school if they would like to. Just tell them to let us know the name of the student they are ordering under. If we run out of a certain flavor, I can order them, but they won't be here until after Thanksgiving break.
If you need another order form, they are available in the office, or let me know and I will send one home with your student.
The price is $1.50 per stick (2 for $3.00). Flavors available this year are:
Original Smoked Hickory
Sweet BBQ
Bold Teriyaki
Sweet Annie Browns
Pepperoni
Old #9
Sweet Fire
Hot Cajun
Sweet Maple Bacon

Pickleball Boo Bash at Burnsville Town Park on October 18, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00. Costume Contest, Mini Round Robin, Lightning Games, Contests, Refreshments, Prizes. Everyone is welcome!

West Virginia children in grades K-5 can enter to win $5,000 in a SMART529 college savings account by writing about their future. It’s fun and easy. Here’s how it works: A child writes a short essay that begins with “When I grow up, I want to be a…”. They then tell why they chose that career. Parents and teachers can help children with their essays. The entries are broken down into three grade categories and five regions.1 The essays of 15 children are selected by a panel of judges, and those children are awarded a $500 SMART529 college savings account. The winners’ school (or homeschool association) also receives a $500 cash prize. The names of the 15 winners are then placed into a random drawing for the grand prize, which is an additional $4,500 in their SMART529 college savings account.
